Chirau Ali Mwakwere has announced his resignation as Wiper party chairman. In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, the seasoned politician, 77, also rubbished off the planned consultation meetings by Azimio principles Raila Odinga, Martha Karua and Kalonzo Musyoka in Nairobi. Mr Musyoka is the Wiper party leader. Mr Mwakwere, who unsuccessfully contested for the Kwale gubernatorial seat on a Wiper Party ticket in the August 2022 polls, has also vowed to protest any form of political handshake between President William Ruto and Mr Odinga. “I cannot be in a party that is exhibiting confusion to the masses. If you count Azimio, don’t count me in. I resigned on December 25, 2022,” said Mwakwere. “If these (Azimio) people are looking for a handshake (via protests), I will advise that they should not be given (one). Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu is expected to release the 2022 Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education exam results on Friday January 20. Machogu is expected to announce the results at the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) offices after reports indicated that marking of the papers had ended. The 2022 national tests were administered between February 28 and April 1, 2022. KNEC administered the KCSE exam to some 884,263 learners who sat the tests last year. Out of this, 420,845 were female while 405,962 were male. This compares to some 826,807 candidates who sat the examinations the previous year. While the schools are expected to be re open next week for term one , majority of candidates have gone hiding because they are afraid of what they will get. Azimio la Umoja Coalition has unveiled what it terms as fresh evidence that Raila Odinga won the August 9 presidential election but was rigged out, coming four months after President William Ruto was sworn into office.  Azimio cited a document provided by a whistleblower working at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) that allegedly indicates Mr Odinga garnered 8,170,353 votes representing 57.3 percent while Dr Ruto garnered 5,915,973 representing 41.66 percent.
