WIPER CHAIRMAN RESIGNS
Chirau Ali Mwakwere has announced his resignation as Wiper party chairman. In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, the seasoned politician, 77, also rubbished off the planned consultation meetings by Azimio principles Raila Odinga, Martha Karua and Kalonzo Musyoka in Nairobi. Mr Musyoka is the Wiper party leader. Mr Mwakwere, who unsuccessfully contested for the Kwale gubernatorial seat on a Wiper Party ticket in the August 2022 polls, has also vowed to protest any form of political handshake between President William Ruto and Mr Odinga. “I cannot be in a party that is exhibiting confusion to the masses. If you count Azimio, don’t count me in. I resigned on December 25, 2022,” said Mwakwere. “If these (Azimio) people are looking for a handshake (via protests), I will advise that they should not be given (one).
